Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at Merdeka Palace here Wednesday received credentials of six foreign ambassadors.

The six ambassadors are Fazlurrahman Fazil (Afghanistan), Seremaia Tuinausori Cavuilati (Fiji), Kim Young-sun (South Korea), Yoshinori Katori (Japan), Nguyen Xuan Thuy (Vietnam), and Antonio Guido Filipazzi (Vatican).

Teuku Faizasyah, presidential spokesman said the presentation of the credential letters marked the beginning of the foreign ambassadors` tasks in Indonesia officially.

President Yudhoyono hoped that the bilateral relations between Indonesia and each of the six countries could be strengthened in the future.

"And more important is the people to people contact," Faizasyah said.

Indonesia also hoped to forge cooperation with those countries in dealing with global issues such as the environment, food and energy, he added.
