Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik led the installation ceremony on Wednesday.
Besides Ukus Kuswara, two other echelon I officials were appointed on Wednesday at the ministry`s Soesilo Sudarman Hall.
The other two senior officials were I Gusti Putu Laksaguna as inspector general of the ministry and Yunus Satrio Atmojo as an expert staff for inter-institutional affairs.
Ukus was previously acting chief of the cultural arts and film affairs while I Gusti Putu Laksaguna was previously expert staff for inter-institutional affairs.
Yunus Satrio Atmojo was previously director for ancient artifacts at the Directorate General for Ancient Artifact Affairs.
Minister Wacik said that the shake up in the structure of the ministry was expected to support its performance so that it would become more effective and efficient.
"We hope that this new structure would change the ministry`s performance into a better one," the minister said.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has a target to win 7.7 million international tourist arrivals this year.
