"Thank God, all my four children are fine and have no defect," the happy mother said when asked of her two newly born sons and two daughters here on Wednesday.
The two daughters were named Najma Khalisha Alpharabi and Najma Khalila Alpharabi while the sons were named Muhammad Khalif Alpharabi and Muhammad Khairna Alpharabi.
Paramitha said she first felt afraid when she knew that she would deliver quadruplets. She feared one of the children might have defects or die during birth.
"Following a reference from family members I finally decided to give birth at Siloam Hospital and got healthy and fine children," she said.
Hospital specialist dr Budijanto said the patient, a resident of Jalan Dalima Raya, Belimbing Complex, Kuranji, Padang, first came in March 10 when her pregnancy was 22 weeks old.
The mother had to be treated after her pregnancy was 24 weeks old because at the time she had felt the pain.
Entering 32 weeks old or eight months old or on May 13 the babies were born, helped by four doctors.
"The babies were born three minutes apart from each other through a premature process with the male babies weighing 1.4 kilograms and female babies 1.6 kilograms," he said.
A quadruplet birth happens one out of 750,000 patients, the doctor says.
He said "the babies can now be taken home as their health conditions are good." (*)
