The two were suspected of corruption in the procurement and management of a law and human rights ministry online administration system (Sismibakum).
"The extended travel bans will be effective June 26, 2011 and are valid for a period of one year," AGO spokesman Noor Rachmad said here on Friday.
Yusril is a former law and human rights minister and Hartono former director of PT Sarana Rekatama Dinamika.
The AGO spokesman said the travel bans needed to be extended because the investigation into the corruption case was not yet completed.
As long as the investigation was still in progress, the two could not be allowed to leave the country, he said.
Sources at the AGO had it that the extension of the travel bans was made at the request of Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Andhi Nirwanto on June 22, 2011.
The request was sent to the Junior Attorney General for intelligence affairs and then forwarded to the immigration office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
The two were suspects in alleged corruption in the Law and Human Rights Ministry`s Sisminbakum case which is believed to have caused a loss of Rp420 billion to the state.
