kicking off their first official foreign trip as husband and wife.
LONDON (ANTARA News) - Prince William and his wife Catherine left Britain on Thursday for a nine-day tour of Canada, kicking off their first official foreign trip as husband and wife.

The 29-year-old newlyweds flew out of London's Heathrow airport in the morning on a Royal Canadian Air Force plane and will arrive in Ottawa later in the day.

Catherine's outfit for the flight featured Canadian and French labels in a move to please her hosts, including those in the predominantly French-speaking province of Quebec, where part of the visit will take place.

She wore a navy blue knee-length Manon dress by French designer Roland Mouret with a navy blazer by Toronto-based Smythe les Vestes, as well as navy Manolo Blahnik Calogera court shoes.

William, second in line to the British throne, was wearing a navy suit and red tie, as AFP told.

The visit will be both casual and action-packed, taking in military ceremonies, a cooking class, aboriginal sports and a rodeo.

TV coverage of the wedding of William and Catherine at Westminster Abbey on April 29 was watched by two billion people.

Their every move in Canada will be followed by 1,300 journalists.
