Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono is scheduled to officially open an International Youth and Marine Sports Festival on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, on July 11, 2011.

The vice president is expected to arrive in Mataram, NTB, on June 10, 2011, Lalu Moh. Faozal, said here Friday.

The Sixth International Youth and Marine Sports Festival (FIPOB VI) will run from July 11 to 17, 2011.

Before opening the festival , Boediono will visit a project of the National Program of People`s Empowerment (PNPM) Mandiri in East Lombok District.

The next day, the vice president will open the FIPOB VI which will be held at Aan Beach, Central Lombok District.

He will also visit the International Lombok airport (BIL) project at Tanak Awu, Pujut sub district, Central Lombok District, which is under construction and almost completed.

At the location of the BIL, the vice president will lead a coordinating meeting on the acceleration development program particularly for eastern Indonesian region.

The FIPOB VI activities will include an international seminar on marine sport industry, jet-sky, snorkeling, swimming circling the Lombok island, windsurfing, fishing contest, and paramotor race.

The FIPOB V was held Anyer, Serang, Banten Province on November 2-11, 2010, which was participated in by representatives from 50 countries and Indonesia`s 26 provinces.

The previous FIPOB annual events were organized in Makassar (South Sulawesi) in 2006, Padang, West Sumatra in 2007, Manado (North Sulawesi) in 2008, and Medan (North Sumatra) in 2009.

FIPOB is an annual event aimed at promoting Indonesian marine tourism objects worldwide.

The FIPOB VI will be officially closed at Senggigi beach on Sunday (July 17) and highlighted with a community party.
