Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has issued a decree suspending temporarily judge Imas Dianasari caught taking a bribe on June 30, a spokesman said.

Under the law, any judge caught red-handed and named a suspect was suspended temporarily, the president`s special aide for legal affairs, Denny Indrayana said here on Friday.

"The issuance of the presidential decree suspending the judge temporarily confirms the government`s commitment to fighting against corruption," he said.

Imas, who is ad hoc judge at the industrial relations court was caught red-handed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), along with the administrative manager of PT Onamba Indonesia, Odi Juanda, at the La Ponyo restaurant in Cinunuk, Cibiru, Bandung, on June 30.

In the arrest, the anti-graft body also seized Rp200 million in cash put in a plastic bag and a Toyota Avanza minivan owned by Imas.

PT Onamba allegedly bribed Imas to win in its dispute with the company`s labour union at the appellate court.

Imas was supposed to be the judge who would decide a dispute between state aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia and its workers on July 8. He was also handling six other cases involving PT Sundaya, PT Klasi, PT Sentral, PT Graha, PT Sumindo, and PT Yupi.(*)
