Damascus (ANTARA News/SANA) - The consultative meeting for comprehensive national dialogue announced by President Bashar al-Assad in his speech at Damascus University kicked off on Sunday at Sahara Complex, with the participation of Syrian political, independent, opposition, academic and youth activist figures.

The two-day meeting discusses the role of national dialogue in the political, economic and social treatment of the current crisis, future prospects, amending the constitution including Article 8, and the possibility of writing a new constitution, in addition to discussing the bills of the new parties, election and media laws.
