"The international participants in this dance festival in Indonesia will enable us to share various things from culture, clothes and other beautiful things," he said in the opening of the Aceh International Folklore Festival (AIFF) here on Saturday evening.
He explained that Indonesia was able to host this year`s AIFF because it came out as the third winner in the previous festival in Turkey.
Many countries had wanted to host the folklore festival, but Indonesia as the third winner, managed to approach the CIOFF, he said.
Taking part in AIFF 2011 are around 180 dancers from 18 countries including Italy, Poland, Estonia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Senegal, Malaysia, Nigeria, Latvia, Lithuania, India, Turkey, Pakistan, Korea, Canada and South Africa.

In addition to Banda Aceh, the Aceh International Folklore Festival 2011 would be organized in some other places in Aceh, including Putroe Phang Park, Tsunami Museum, Ulee Lheu, Rex Peunayoeng, and Sinbun Sibreh.(*)
