"The declaration is the follow up to Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2011 on action plan to prevent and eradicate corruption," head of Type A Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise Office, Iyan Rubiyanto, said at the signing of the memorandum of understanding on anti-corruption declaration.
He said the MOU contains commitment to supporting corruption prevention and eradication program and creating a corruption prevention and eradication program in their offices concerned.
Iyan said the MOU also contains an agreement by 19 stakeholders to jointly conduct monitoring on the implementation of the tasks of enforcing integrity and compliance among employees and businessmen in the port area.
"We would also jointly along with other related elements to create conducive and supporting working conditions to promote public service based on good governance principles," he said.
He said after the signing of the MOU a task force would be set up to supervise and evaluate the implementation of corruption eradication in the port area.
"Later all parties will be involved in it. So there will be members from associations and the government offices in the task force," he said.
Among the stakeholders signing the MOU are the chief of the Tanjung Priok sea port resort police, head of the port`s immigration office, head of the Port Authority, head of standardization service of the ministry of industry and head of the All Indonesia Association of National Importers (GINSI).
Others include head of the Organda port special transportation association, general manager of Pelindo II, head of the port`s fish quarantine service II, head of the port`s farm quarantine service, head of APJP (the port`s priority lane company association) and head of the North Jakarta public prosecutor`s office.
Earlier the Tanjung Priok customes and excise service also signed an agreement on anti-levies with four TPS (transaction processing service) Line 1 and special Organda port transportation service, five TPS Line 2, GAFEKSI (Indonesian Forwarders Association), APJP and non-priority partner companies.
