Head of Bank Indonesia`s Denpasar office Jeffrey Kairupan in his Bali`s economic survey in Denpasar said on Wednesday Bali`s handicraft goods exports to China in the January-March 2011 period reached 7.6 million US dollars.
In the meantime, Bali businessmen purchasing various capital goods from China in the January-March 2011 period was worth 6.6 million US dollars, bringing a small surplus of 943 thousand US dollars.
He said the foreign exchange revenue from non-oil/gas trading with China and Hong Kong had been constantly increasing like those in 2009 to only from 33 million US dollars 38 million US dollars in 2010.
Bali with the exports of small textile and textile products industries imported raw materials and some other non-oil/gas commodities mostly purchased from its business partners in China.
The relatively cheap Chinese-made clothes have largely imported for the people in those parts and clothes and garments of different sizes are also offered at the porches of stores.
Bali`s exports of handicraft articles and goods to China and Hong Kong as one of the world`s trading centers continued to increase to 7.6 million US dollars in the three months of the first semester of I-2011.
The smooth foreign trade especially jewelry, ready clothes, and household furniture and constantly increased foreign exchange revenue from two million US dollars in February to three million US dollars in March 2011.
Bali`s non-oil/gas export potentials including hand-made handicraft goods and articles are very big to China and Hong Kong, especially that Bali`s products had often been displayed at the World Expo in Shanghai, China.
Intergovernmental relations have increased as China, is a country with a fast growing economy, is a potential economic cooperation partner which with many countries had established trade relations.
Its rapid economic growth will make China to need many things from other countries like Bali, including furniture designed and made in accordance with the liking and taste of the consumers.
