Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA News) - State-owned shipping company PT Pelni will operate one more of its ships, the KM Labobar, to transport people making their reverse Idul Fitri trips from Belawan to Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, a company official said.

"To anticipate a surge in the reverse flow of Idul Fitri travelers at Belawan port, we will operate our KM Labobar," Manager of PT Pelni for Belawan office, Budandi said here on Thursday.

He said that Pelni would put into service KM Labobar at Belawan port to accompany KM Kelud which so far had regularly served the Belawan-Batam-Tanjung Priok routes once in a week.

KM Labobor which has a maximum capacity of 3,500 passengers is expected to arrive on August 29, 2011 from Tanjung Priok, Jakarta.

On September 3, or Idul Fitri D-Day plus five, Labobar will leave Belawan to Batam and Tanjung Priok.

Meanwhile, KM Kelud, with a capacity of 2,900 passengers, will arrive at Belawan port on August 28, 2011. It will leave Batam on September 6, 2011 to serve reverse Idul Fitri travelers.
