Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines former president director known with his initial HN had been officially banned from traveling abroad based on a letter issued by the junior attorney general for intelligence affairs.

HN has been named a suspect for alleged corruption in the leasing of a Boeing 737-400 and 737-500, spokesman for the Attorney General office Noor Rachmad said here on Monday.

"The junior attorney general for intelligence affairs (Jamintel) has signed the letter imposing a ban on the former Merpati president director," Noor Rachmad, head of Legal Information Center of the Attorney General`s Office said.

According to Noor Rachmad, the ban is effective for six months for an investigation of the alleged corruption case.

A similar ban has not been imposed on another suspect, PT Merpati former financial known for its initials GA.(*)
