The authority called a tender last week seeking contractors to conduct a six-month trial at two locations along public roads, the Straits Times said, adding that it remained unclear where these sites were.
However, it is known that the sites will be 150 meters long and two lanes wide each.
Once set up, the CCTV system will be able to capture the license plate details of the vehicles parked in prohibited zones around the clock and under all weather conditions.
The authority will review the quality of the images and videos captured during the trial and determine whether they can be used as evidence in court.
Authorities issue about 22,000 summonses a month to motorists parking illegally. Currently, the authority depends on traffic wardens, auxiliary police officers and its own uniformed enforcement officers to enforce parking regulations.
