"For 2011, the National Police had targeted the uncovering of 473 corruption cases. We have reached 80 percent of the target. I am optimistic that we will be able to surpass the target in December," Bekto said at the National Meeting for an Anti-Corruption Movement in Jakarta.
He said the challenge in investigating corruption was the complexity of the case and the actors involved in it.
Bekto expressed hope the National Meeting for an Anti-Corruption Movement participated in by police personnel from around Indonesia could evaluate and improve the ways in investigating corruption cases.
"Personnel from every regional police command can share their experience at this meeting," he said. (*)
