Besides asking for support from the People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR), the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD), the President also asked for support from other state institutions.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has asked parliament to support him during the remaining three years of his term.

"On this good occasion I ask and appeal for the support of others so that the government`s noble duties can be fulfilled well," he said closing his policy speech at the installation of his reshuffled cabinet here on Wednesday.

Besides asking for support from the People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR), the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD), the President also asked for support from other state institutions.

He also asked for support from regional administrators including provincial governors, district heads and city mayors.

"I will together with you all, together with governors across the country to overcome the problems hampering our development effort and create more opportunities so that all our development e targets can be achieved in the 2012-2014 period," he said.

In his speech President Yudhoyono outlined the focus of the government`s efforts over the next three years. He mentioned eight issues that needed to be settled by the end of his term in 2014.

They are optimization of the use of state funds to achieve targets, corruption eradication and prevention, protection of Indonesian migrant workers abroad, reform of state-owned companies and food and energy resilience.

He said the issues are the country`s challenges, not the government`s, and therefore he called on all parties to give their support so that the government could find the right solutions to the problems.

The President meanwhile also asked the media and the people to monitor and control in constructive ways the running of his government.

President Yudhoyono on Wednesday installed his newly-reshuffled cabinet that includes new ministers and deputy ministers. President Yudhoyono will end his term in 2014 permanently as can constitutionally not run for president a third time.(*)
