Jakarta, Oct. 28 (ANTARA) - Indonesia is ready with its high commitment in CTI-CFF leadership, as stated by the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Sharif C. Sutardjo at the 3rd Ministerial Meeting (MM3) Coral Triangle Initiative-Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) in Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, Jakarta (Oct. 28).

Furthermore, Cicip said that MM3 has made several agreement, such as: First, the approval of legal document for the establisment of CTI-CFF permanent regional secretariat; Second, this permanent regional secretariat has wider authority, in order to strengthen its status as International Legal Entity; and Third, there is strong support from both donor countries, including USA and Australia, as well the partner, including Asian Development Bank (ADB), Global Enviroment Facility (GEF), WWF, TNC, and CI.

Several countries which consolidate in donor and partner of CT-6 give highly appreciation for Indonesian Leadership to CTI-CFF in facilitating various programs and activities since 2009, such as facilitate the meeting between stakeholder and community in conservation of coral reefs and food security. Moreover, support has also given by several countries, such as USA which is commited to increase the fund aid, besides Australia has said the adding of fund aid to CTI-CFF, as well in form of capacity building.

By signing "Joint Ministerial Statement", to agree the approval of permanent regional secretariat establisment, after this signing each countries should prepare the document of permanent regional secretariat establishment. While this process is running, provisional regional secretariat which is based in Jakarta continue to implement the Regional Plan of Action and each countries should accelerate the implementation National Plan of Action in those countries. It expects to accelerate the next action programs which contain in Rgional Plan of Action (RPoA) or National Plan of Action (NPOA). One of Indonesian commitment is established Permanent Regional Secretariat Building in Manado, North Sulawesi.

CTI-CFF MM3 and SOM7 were held on 24-28 October 2011 in Sari Pan Pacific Hotel Jakarta which was attended bY CTI-CFF member's countries, including Papua New Guinea, Phillippines, and Solomon Island Country.
