"After a four-day chase, a team (of police officers) managed to arrest the suspect," North Sumatra provincial police spokesman Comr Andry Setiawan said on Monday.
The suspect, identified as Wisnu Indra Permana, was arrested at a house on Jl. Kutilang in Bukit Tinggi.
Andry said the suspect, along with his two friends, had earlier intended to break into the house of a traffic police officer in Bukit Tinggi to take any valuables they could find. It turned out, Wisnu found a revolver in the house and decided to also take it away.
Based on the results of an investigation, police had not found any sign of the suspect trying to commit other criminal offense using the firearm, he said.
The suspect is being detained at the North Sumatra provincial police station for further questioning.
Andry said the police were now also after Winsu`s two associates. (*)
