Ramadhan Pohan, the deputy chairman of the ruling Democrat Party faction in the House of Representatives (DPR), said here on Monday "many politicians have been politically impatient lately. They attacked and harassed President SBY (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) in the public under the guise of a discussion, a dialog or a political gathering or in their political statements on the media."
Pohan, who is also a party`s deputy secretary general, said they had attacked President Yudhoyono on matters that have nothing to do with SBY referring to cases such as the Nazar case.
"What does the case have to do with Pak (Mr) SBY. It is not that the case is the affairs of KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission)," he said.
"We adhere to the law. The same thing happens in the case of Constitution Court (MK) forged letter. Why is SBY being connected with it" he said.
Pohan also referred to the case of the Century Bank bailout. "They keep blaming. It is not that the parliament has already referred the case to the law enforcement agency. So, why is Pak SBY is being blamed," he said.
He said they had a wrong address. "I think all of the accusations have been sent to the wrong address. Or perhaps they were indeed intended for provocation purposes," he said.
Pohan said they did no find rational reasons to unseat the President and "finally resorting to blind attacks, accusing him of being involved in this and that case or conspired in this and that and a liar," he said.
He said some of the politicians come from the opposition while one of two from the Golkar Party. "I do not understand why the Golkar Party general chairman and other party leaders let them do that," he said.
He said that it has given an impression that the party is implementing double standards. "On the one hand they say they are part of the government`s coalition but on the other hand they let the attacks to happen," he said.
