Yudhoyono said the economic crisis that had hit the Euro zone was still the main topic of discussion in the 19th APEC meeting he had attended in Honolulu on November 12 -13, 2011.
Honolulu (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the ASEAN Summit in Bali to be held along with the ASEAN+3 and East Asia Summit would formulate concrete steps in responding to the global financial crisis that was also the main agendas of the G20 and APEC Summits.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday night local time, or Monday evening Western Indonesia time, Yudhoyono said the economic crisis that had hit the Euro zone was still the main topic of discussion in the 19th APEC meeting he had attended in Honolulu on November 12 -13, 2011.

"In the first session of the APEC Summit, the leaders discussed the global economic situation, including how to kickstart growth and create job opportunities," the president said.

The summit of the leaders of economies grouped in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, discussed steps to create global financial stability and regulation reforms which had to be done to remove economic growth barriers.

The discussion was a follow up of the G20 Summit in Cannes, France, on November 3-4, 2011 which produced a working frame and action plan for the respective member countries to create sustainable, balanced, stable economic growth.

"(So we have to discuss) how it could be implemented in Asia Pacific region level and what synergy and coordination have to be done in the APEC region or in countries in Asia and the United States," the president said.

The head of state said that the series of international meetings from G20, APEC and ASEAN Summit in Bali on November 17-19, 2011 were inter-related one and another in an effort to seek for the best solution to and implementation of efforts to overcome the global financial crisis.(*)
