Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia failed to win a gold medal in the first bowling match for individual males at the 26th Southeast Asian Games here on Tuesday.

The gold medal went to Frederick Ong, a bowler from the Philippines who reached a final score of 1386.

Ryan Lalisang of Indonesia who had been expected to win gold had to be content with being ranked fourth with a total score of 1341.

The silver medal of the bowling match went to Jeremy Posadas of the Philippines and the bronze to Malaysian Adrian Ang with a total score of 1359.

"I am indeed disappointed about being in fourth position," Ryan said after the match.

He admitted that in the beginning of the match the trajectory was somewhat dry so it was difficult to play well.

"Although the trajectory was somewhat dry and I made several mistakes, I did my best and now I can only feel disappointed about the final outcome," he said.

Learning from this experience, he promised to play even better in the next match in the doubles.
