The gubernatorial election is expected to happen in the once restive region in February 2012...Banda Aceh, Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) forum in Aceh province which is popularly called "Forum LSM Aceh" condemned the terror action through grenade attacks which happened here on Tuesday night (Nov. 29).
"We condemn the terror action which was committed by irresponsible persons. Such acts are very detrimental to Aceh," the Forum LSM Aceh secretary general, Sudarman Alkatiri Puteh said here on Friday, adding that another grenade attack occurred on Thursday (Dec. 1)
The grenade attacks that happened at the office of the Aceh gubernatorial aspirants pair Irwandi Yusuf-Muhyan Yunan here, was believed to have threatened the peaceful situation in the most-western province.
In addition, the NGO forum also urged the police to find the terror perpetrators and impose stern action against them so as to allow the people conduct their daily activities peacefully, he said.
Sudarman also hoped the provincial political elites to campaign for the peace and required the communities not to be affected by the terror.
The gubernatorial election is expected to happen in the once restive region in February 2012.
Previously, Aceh governor Irwandi Yusuf also urged the police to conduct thorough investigation on the terror cases.
"I hope the police carry out the thorough investigation immediately and unveil the perpetrators of the grenade attacks despite there was no fatality in the incident," he added. (B003)
