Banjarmasin (ANTARA News) - World Anti Corruption Day in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, should bring more prosperity to the local people, regional councillor Nasrullah AR of the United Development Party (PPP) said here on Saturday.

Therefore, he called on all related parties in the province to implement the meaning of World Anti Corruption Day by making the local people more prosperous.

"I say this because in my opinion the real sense of anti corruption day is a common effort to make the people more prosperous," Nasrullah said to comment on the World Anti Corruption Day which was observed on December 9, 2011.

The young politician from the PPP said that optimum efforts should be made to bring regional development to its right direction without a violation of any kind.

According to him, law enforcers in the province should proactively take the strongest possible action against any deviation from the goals of development.

"We will fully support anti corruption and law enforcement efforts in our bid to make the people more prosperous," Nasrullah said.

Observing the World Anti Corruption Day on Friday, South Kalimantan Indonesian Muslim Students Action Front (KAMMI) staged a protest rally at the provincial legislative building in Banjarmasin.

In the rally the students demanded that government officials in the province exercise refrain from any act of corruption.
