Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono attended the opening of a national working meeting of the National Mandate Party (PAN) here on Saturday evening.

President Yudhoyono who is also the chief patron of the ruling Democrat Party arrived at the event at 7.30pm accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono and was welcomed by PAN general chairman Hatta Rajasa and chief of PAN advisory board Amien Rais.

Several PAN leaders and leaders of other political parties and a number of cabinet ministers were seen attending the event including the secretary general of the Democrat Party, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, who is the son of President Yudhoyono and son-in-law of Hatta Rajasa.

The conference which will last until December 11, 2011 will discuss, according to information from the committee, among others organization guidelines and policies for 2012.
