"Remain solid and united to develop PAN," he said when installing PAN board members across West Sumatra.
He said PAN must be able to win minimally 10 percent of national votes in the 2014 general elections.
"Indeed PAN could only win six to seven percent of the votes in the 2009 general elections," he said.
He said the double digit target has been informed to all party cadres across the country for immediate implementation.
"PAN has asked all its cadres to work hard to achieve the target," he said.
Hatta on the occasion also expressed hope the party`s presidential candidate for the 2014 presidential election could win.
He declined to comment on who would be his running mate. "Let us wait and see," he said.
The chief of the West Sumatra PAN regional board, Asli Chaidir, said all PAN board members from across West Sumatra after the installation would meet to discuss the 2014 general elections.
"West Sumatra PAN chapter would soon set up a success team," he said.
He said the West Sumatra chapter targets winning 30 percent of votes in 2014 above 19 percent it achieved in 2009.
He said the West Sumatra PAN chapter also was ready to make Hatta Rajasa become the next president.
"West Sumatra is a fertile land for making Hatta Rajasa president in the 2014 election," he said.
Hatta`s nomination comes from cadres and so all cadres must make him win the election, he said. "We are the ones that have asked him to run and so we will work hard for him," he said.
