Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The South Sulawesi branch of the Indonesian Young Businessmen Association (Hipmi) has expressed hope that upcoming regional elections would proceed peacefully in order to maintain the region's economic security and stability.

"We hope the regional election in 2013 will proceed peacefully, and the political nuances should not influence the people`s economic development," South Sulawesi branch of Hipmi chairman Yudhi Ondong Harsono said here on Friday.

He noted that maintaining the area's security was a decisive factor in the creation of the community's economic development in South Sulawesi.

Regarding the 2013 gubernatorial election in South Sulawesi , Yudhi said the political climate in the region would heat up, but Hipmi would not be affected.

"Together, let us maintain a stable investment climate and peace in Makassar and South Sulawesi during the run up to gubernatorial elections in the province," he added.
