Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s chief economic minister Hatta Rajasa said the country needed Rp1,000 trillion to make its Master Plan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI) program successful.

"To support the MP3EI program Rp1,000 trillion is needed to be prepared in the national budget," he said at a press conference here on Saturday after opening a regional board meeting of the National Mandate Party (PAN) which he leads.

He said besides the budget funds private parties had also prepared US$150 billion to support the program.

He said with the success Indonesia would become a self-sufficient country in 2014 and would not again sell crude oil abroad.

"Later if the downstream program of the MP3EI is already optimal oil produced must be processed at home before being exported," he said.

He said the MP3EI program is also expected to be able to change Indonesia into a self-sufficient and well to do country.

He assured in the next two years` time the country`s biggest cluster of palm oil industries in Riau province would begin operating.

"Later the crude oil will be processed before being exported to various countries," he said.

Hatta said it was time for Riau as one of the provinces that has the richest natural resources to make breakthroughs to improve the welfare of the people and the region.

One of them is by developing palm oil industrial clusters as a system to manage all kinds of processing, he said.
