Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro is on a three-day visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart General Liang Guanglie.

"The minister visited two Chinese defence facilities which produce guided-missiles, on the first day of his visit on Sunday, besides holding talks with Chinese officials," the Indonesian embassy in China said in a press statement on Monday.

Indonesian Air Force since several years ago had used Chinese made QW anti aircraft portable missile.

He has been accompanied by a delegation comprising deputy naval chief of staff Vice Admiral Marsetio, director general of defence strategy at the Defence Ministry Maj. Gen. Puguh Santoso, chief of the defence facility board at the ministry Maj. Gen. Ediwin Prabowo and chief of administrative affairs section at the ministry Vice Admiral Yuhastiar.

Both the countries have agreed to enhance defence ties covering transfer of technology under a mutually beneficial scheme, the statement said. "The defence cooperation agreement is related to the production of
ground-to-ground missiles, ground-to-air missiles and air-to-air missiles," the embassy said.

On Monday, the delegation is scheduled to hold talks with the Chinese defence minister and later hold discussions with a leading research institute in China.

Purnomo will meet Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Li Keqiang on the last day of his visit in China on Tuesday. Li Keqiang is tipped to become the next Chinese premier.
