"Our midterm target is to operate 34 Airbus planes by the end of 2015," Dharmadi said at the inauguration of 100 Percent Airbus at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Therefore Dharmadi said the company would take steps to make comprehensive market analysis and reliable human resources trainings with adequate number.
At present he said AirAsia Indonesia has officially operated 17 Airbus A320 jetliners and to add four more to become 21 units altogether in 2012.
He said AirAsia was currently operating all new airplanes with three years of age in average.
"Operating new airplanes will reduce the consumption of fuel," Dharmadi said, adding that AirAsia was planning to carry at least 20 million passengers in 2012.
He noted that in the past two years since 2010 AirAsia has been leading in international flight market and would continue to maintain it.
Dharmadi said the percentage of international market dominated by AirAsia in 2010 was 41.09 percent and it was slightly up to 41.50 percent in 2011.
"Our strategy of AirAsia Indonesia is 75 percent for international routes and 25 percent for domestic routes," Dharmadi said.
