"We continue to coordinate (with other relevant agencies) and prepare a team to probe the death case," Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar, the head of the national police`s public information section, said here on Wednesday.
The police are coordinating with other relevant agencies and families of the murdered migrant workers to conduct a repeat autopsy on the bodies of the migrant workers.
The three migrant workers from East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, died after being shot by the police in the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan for allegedly attacking the police when the police approached them.
"The autopsy will be conducted there (in West Nusa Tenggara). We have sufficient forensic officers in West Nusa Tenggara to help legal supremacy in connection with the alleged disappearance of their organs and the like," he stated.
When asked about the results of the repeat autopsy, the senior commissioner replied that the police would await further developments for one or two more days. "If any of the organs has been removed, there will be international cooperation to disclose the matter," he added.
The families of the three migrant workers who were killed have alleged that some of the organs of the victims were removed and sold, based on the stitches found on the victims` eyes, chests and stomachs. They also suspect that the victims` eyes and other organs have been removed.
These suspicions are based on the account given by Herman, who saw the condition of the victims` bodies at Port Dickson Hospital in Malaysia before the bodies were shrouded, put into coffins and sent to Indonesia.
The bodies of the construction workers killed in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, arrived at their home villages on April 12 and were buried there.(*)
