"The first JIC meeting between the two sides will produce operational measures."Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian and North Korean governments are increasing their information cooperation following their first Joint Information Committee (JIC) meeting, Communications and Information Ministry`s Secretary General Basuki Yusuf Iskandar said in Yogyakarta Tuesday.
He said the first JIC meeting between the two sides will produce operational measures.
He also said the delegations of the two countries have signed an MoU in Jakarta on February 19, 2009, and on March 25, 2011 a Communications and Information Ministry`s delegation made a visit to North Korea in which the two sides agreed to form the JIC.
He said the two sides agreed to cooperate in radio and television broadcasts, exchange of officials, envoys, and journalists.
Deputy Chairman of the North Korean Information Committee Jong Yong Choi said the meeting is also expected to contribute to expand bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
He also said that visit of the North Korean Information Committee delegation to Indonesia was a return visit of the Indonesian Communications and Information Ministry to North Korea.
After the first JIC meeting, the North Korean delegation during its isit to Yogyakarta until May 9, 2012 is scheduled to visit Prambanan Temple, Presidential Palace Gedung Agung, the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace (Kraton), Multi Media Training Center (MMTC), Museum, and TVRI Yogyakarta.
Previously the North Korean delegation had visited Borobudur Temple.
