According to an official, this software is more efficient because it helps save money and improves productivity by 10-15 percent.
"This software is about complexity management and has many advantages. First, it can be integrated with the business profile. Second, it uses the search by application, and third, it can monitor the product both internally and externally," said the vice president of the company`s corporate communications, Pierre Marchadier, here on Thursday.
He said that this tool can be used to analyse the given data, regional policies, environmental regulations and sustainable development, which can then be simulated.
"The software can analyse the quantity of natural resources in the land. The accuracy depends on the data provided."
He mentioned that the software helps the engineers to focus on their work.
"We are also updating our data every month," he added.
However, this software cannot replace the role played by human beings. According to him, people can explore more information and innovation with this software.
Many Indonesian companies - such as the State Electricity Company (PT PLN), Wood Group Indonesia and Vale Energy - have already implemented this software.
"This software can be used not only by engineers, but also by other employees," he remarked.
In April 2012, Dassault Systemes acquired the geological modelling and simulation company Gemcom Software International (Gemcom) for approximately US$360 million.
Gemcom is the world leader in mining industry software solutions, and has set up an office in Jakarta to serve Indonesia`s vibrant and growing market for mining-related software and services. (*)
