SINGAPORE, May 24, 2012 (ANTARA/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) --
24,000 delegates attended, SGD 213,410 raised for charity
Catering to the increasingly health-conscious Asian consumers, Herbalife has achieved significant success in the region with an ever-expanding network of independent distributors. This is reflected by the growing popularity of the Herbalife Asia Pacific 'Extravaganza', a gathering of a record 24,000 of its independent distributors from across Asia Pacific to discuss the latest nutrition trends, product training and business-building initiatives at the Singapore EXPO. This weekend's event saw an increase of 41%* in the number of delegates since 2010, demonstrating the huge rise in interest around affordable nutrition supplements that help with the weight management and the fitness needs of Asian consumers.

"Herbalife emphasizes the personal development of our growing pool of independent distributors in the region and has invested in training forums, which we organize throughout the year. The Extravaganza is a key platform for Herbalife to arm our distributors with training in our products, business and marketing strategies. It is a forum for exchanging success stories and contribute to building an overall business model for them to succeed in their business," said William M. Rahn, managing director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.
The Herbalife Extravaganza 2012 was a major milestone for the local MICE industry in Singapore. Occupying 400,000 sqft of space at Singapore EXPO Convention & Exhibition Centre and all the rooms at its new convention wing, MAX Atria, the event required careful logistical planning and impeccable execution.
Aloysius Arlando, chief executive officer of Singex Venues Pte Ltd., the managing company for EXPO said, "Herbalife Extravaganza has always added much vibrancy to EXPO whenever it came round, and this year was no exception. While EXPO is no stranger to hosting large-scale international events, it was the first time EXPO had hosted a 24,000-delegate Extravaganza. Through meticulous planning and efficient deployment of resources, our experienced Event Services and Operations teams worked closely with Herbalife to ensure that every event component, from registration to conference and plenary session, proceeded with clockwork precision to provide a smooth and memorable visitor experience for delegates. We were also delighted to introduce our Green Mark Platinum-certified convention wing, MAX Atria, to our regional visitors. We certainly look forward to the next edition in Singapore with even greater numbers!"
As part of Herbalife's commitment to help improve the lives of vulnerable children through its Casa Herbalife programs, the Extravaganza also helped raise funds for its 16 Casa Herbalife programs in the region. Combining this with the efforts by local distributors at Herbalife Singapore's 9th anniversary recently, a total of SGD 213,410 was raised and will be donated to the Singapore Children's Society and other charities throughout the region.
