JAKARTA, Indonesia, June 11, 2012 (ANTARA/PRNewswire-Asia-AsiaNet) --
Today, Alpha Southeast Asia revealed the results of their second annual poll to find Southeast Asia's top companies. The awards are based on tallied votes among 460 investors, pension funds, hedge funds, equity and fixed income brokers and analysts with investment interests in the region. Companies in each country were ranked on their financial management, adherence to corporate governance, CSR and investor relations' strategy, transparency and disclosure.
In Indonesia, seven publicly listed companies and one family controlled private sector bank, Bank Central Asia were voted with the best perception among investors. The listed companies meanwhile include coal miner Adaro Energy, conglomerate Astra International, banking giant Bank Mandiri, nickel miner Antam, steel producer Krakatau Steel, telecoms behemoth Telkom and national airline Garuda Indonesia.
Bank Mandiri's CFO, Pahala Mansury was voted as the Best CFO in Indonesia.
Across the region, the award for Best CFO in Southeast Asia went to Jeann Low, CFO at SingTel. The award for the Best Annual Report in Southeast Asia went to Keppel Corp while the award for the Strongest Commitment to Sustainable Energy in Southeast Asia went to Thai Oil.
A key distinguishing feature of the poll is that it not only names investor favourites, but adventurously publishes names of companies that are perceived to have "Poor Management Access & IR" by this same group of investors. In Indonesia, Bumi Resoures, Global Mediacom and Gudang Garam were noted for their poor and unpredictable investor relations' strategy.
Results for Indonesia are as follows (in alphabetical order):
Most organized investor relations (IR): Adaro Energy, Astra International, Bank Mandiri
Best Senior Management IR Support: Antam, Bank Mandiri, Krakatau Steel
Strongest Adherence to Corporate Governance: Adaro Energy, Antam, Astra International
Most Consistent Dividend Policy: Astra International, Bank Central Asia, Telkom
Best Strategic CSR: Astra International, Bank Mandiri, Telkom

Best CFO in Indonesia: Pahala Mansury, CFO, Bank Mandiri
