Ankata (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Turkish security forces discovered a homemade bomb weighing 100 kg in the Lice district of southeastern Hakkari province on Monday, local newspaper Today`s Zaman reported on its official website.

Acting on tip, the security forces found the bomb, which was made of ammonium nitrate explosive and placed into two gas cylinders, and successfully disposed of it on the scene, said the report.

Suspecting that the outlawed Kurdish Workers` Party (PKK) is responsible for making the bomb, local police and gendarmes have started investigations.

In a separate operation in Hakkari province earlier Monday, Turkish troops killed three PKK members in a clash in the town of Cukurca, which is located near the borders of Iraq, Iran and Turkey.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, took up arms in 1984 in an attempt to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. Since then, over 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the group.

Responding to the declaration, the DPRK said on May 22 that it had no plan to conduct nuclear tests alongside its peaceful satellite development program.

The DPRK conducted two nuclear tests in October 2006 and May 2009, and received sanctions by the UN Security Council.
