Seoul (ANTARA News/Yonhap) - South Korea will soon send emergency relief supplies to help victims in the Philippines, as the Southeast Asian nation was devastated by heavy rains and floods, officials said Tuesday.

Seoul "decided to give humanitarian relief supplies worth US$200,000 to the affected areas in the Philippines as promptly as possible," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

South Korea plans to give additional aid to the Philippines if necessary, because the country is bracing for a new tropical storm, the statement said.
