"The ITS program has been implemented in 22 cities in stage across Indonesia."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government through the Ministry of Transportation has allocated a fund of Rp110 billion for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) program in 22 cities across the country, Deputy Transportation Minister Bambang Susantono said on Sunday.

"The ITS program has been implemented in 22 cities in stage across Indonesia since the past four year," Bambang said in a written statement.

He noted that the funds were used for the development of ITS pilot project which was expected to save 33 percent of transportation cost.

Bambang explained that with the Intelligent Transportation System, the road users would be able to know the traffic condition so as to take more efficient alternative road to reach their destination without being trapped in traffic jam.

According to him, the Intelligent Transportation System is made up of Advanced Navigation System, Advanced Traffic Management System, Incident Management System, Electronic Toll Collection, and Advanced for Safe Driving.
