"I understand BPK needs more time and it is acceptable."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The House of Representatives has asked the State Audit Agency (BPK) to provide a detailed audit report on the construction of the national sports education centre in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, as part of investigations into alleged corruption in the project.

"We have asked BPK to clearly identify who will be responsible for the Hambalang project," said Teguh Juwarno, a member of the House of Representatives from National Mandate Party faction, here on Thursday.

He stated that the BPK needed more time to collect detailed data and information in order to complete the audit as part of its investigation.

"I understand BPK needs more time and it is acceptable as long as the audit will reveal the complete data," Teguh added.

"The BPK has to find out details about the funds that were allocated for the Hambalang project during various stages of its implementation from land acquisition, to budgeting, to execution," he pointed out.

Teguh expressed hope that the BPK would cooperate with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in conducting a detailed audit of the Hambalang project.

According to Law No.8/2010 on Criminal Prevention and Money Laundering, BPK has the authority seek a report on financial transactions from the PPATK.

"House of Representatives Speaker Marzuki Alie and the State Personnel Administration Body (BAKN) must discuss the procedure of submitting the audit from BPK to the Parliament, which should be in line with Article 7 of Law No. 15 of 2006," Teguh stated.

He said the audit must be officially submitted to Parliament.

"The chairman of BPK will submit the audit report on the Hambalang project on October 31, because the investigation is close to 90% complete, having started in February this year," Teguh noted.
