Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the first lady Ani Yudhoyono will leave for Britain on Tuesday next week at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

During his visit until No. 3 in Britain, Yudhoyono will also meet Prince of Wales Charles, chairman of the Democratic Liberal Party Nick Clegg and opposition leader Ed Miliband.

"The visit is expected to strengthen ties between the two countries," Teuku Faizasyah, the presidential staff for international relations, said here on Monday.

Faizasyah said during the visit here in April 2012, British Prime Minister David Cameron discussed expansion of cooperation between the two countries focused on trade, investment and education.

Yudhoyono will peak at a number of forums including All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indonesia, Royal College for Defence Studies, and Wilton Park, he added.

From Britain the president will fly fly to Laos to attend the 9th summit meeting of Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

Yudhoyono and his entourage are due to arrive here on 6 November 2012. (*)
