Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The level of people`s satisfaction with efforts to uphold the law and eradicate corruption under the present regime is low, a survey says.

A survey held on Oct 5-21 by Indonesia Network Election Survey (INES) showed that 83.2 percent of 6,000 respondents said they were not satisfied, 11.6 percent said they were very much not satisfied and 5.2 percent said they were satisfied with the efforts made in upholding the law and eradication of corruption under the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono.

The vast majority of the people were not satisfied with the performance of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), police, the prosecution office and the justice ministry, INES director Sudrajat Sacaawitra said here on Monday.

Sudrajat said the people are especially not satisfied with the leniency of punishment imposed on convicts that they had no remorse for what they had committed.

The people also expressed frustration at seeing many law enforcers involved in corruption, graft and illegal activities such as protection for criminals and compromise with criminals, he said.
