Jayapura (ANTARA News) - JHF, former chief of Bintuni public works office has been arrested in Semarang, Central Java on charge of corruption, police said.

JHF was charged with embezzling Rp4.5 billion in state fund when he was still active in the regency of Bintuni in 2009, Papua police `s chief detective Sr. Comr Setyo Budiyanto said.

The Papua police cooperated with the Central Java police in arresting JHF on Monday as he was no longer in Bintuni since he was named a suspect, Setyo said here on Tuesday.

He said JHF would be flown to Bintuni today from Semarang for questioning.

He said JHF is facing a jail term of up to 20 years if found guilty, adding JHF is not the only suspects in the case.

There are three suspects, he said, but he refused to name the other two as police were still investigating their respective roles. (*)
