"Those who know me surely know that I like to play in Asia."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Two world class golfers have confirmed taking part in the third year of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters competition to take part in May 2-3 in the Royale Jakarta Golf Club, Jakarta next year.
Flamboyant golfer John Daly and world`s 16th ranking golfer Ernie Els would highlight the Asian Tour level competition next year, CIMB Niaga president Arwin Rasyid said here on Wednesday.
"Ernie Els and John Daly are golf legends and are well known among world class golfers," Irwin said.
The presence of the two classy players would make the tournament more attractive, he added.
Ernie Els has won 60 professional golf tournaments in various countries. He is holder of seven World Match Play titles and four Major Championships titles.
The South African golfer, called Big Easy, has said he wanted to play golf and compete in Indonesia and has prepared himself for it, Irwin said.
"Those who know me surely know that I like to play in Asia. That is why I am hopeful to compete in Indonesia," Ernie Els has said, adding, he has played once in Indonesia.
He promised to entertain golf lovers and audience in the tournament.
John Daly is not among the Top 20 World Golfer, but he often entertained the audience.
The world`s 193 ranking player likes to wear a loud short known as "grip it and rip it".
Daly is skilled in drive that he was named the ninth best golfer in length of drive in PGA Tour with drives averaging 270 meters each.
"I always enjoy playing in new field. Indonesia`s Royale Jakarta Golf Club has a good reputation," he said.
He promised to demonstrate his best golfing skills in the Indonesian Masters competition.
"I would not want to miss playing with best players in Asian Tour together with by friend Ernie Els," the US golf player said.
Around 56 players are expected to take part in the week long Indonesian Masters competition including 120 Asian golfers who take part in Asian Tour.
Indonesian will send 20 golfers to the tournament.
