The BEI index fell 0.04 percent to close at 4,290.79 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks falling 0.09 percent to 727.41 this afternoon.
Phillip Securities Indonesia`s analyst Gunawan Sutanto said the BEI index followed the trend in global and regional markets that weakened with minimum positive sentiments.
Gunawan said the market players chose to wait and see as there is still no solution yet to US fiscal cliff problem.
There were 156,043 transactions on Friday with 4.189 billion shares valued at Rp3.871 trillion changing hand.
Decliners outnumbered gainers by 134 to 126 with 104 shares flat.
Regional markets Hang Seng posted a decline of 0.26 percent in index to 22,191.17 points with Nikkei-225 index down 0.19 percent to 9,527.39 points and Straits Times gaining 0.77 percent to 3,101.82 points .(*)
