The MoU was signed by Indonesian Social Affairs Minister Salim Segaf Al Jufri and Malaysian Foreign Affairs Minister Anifah Aman on behalf of the Women, Family and Public Development Minister, in the presence of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib tun Razak.
Al Jufri said the agreement includes the exchange of information and experts, training, and workshops and seminars, which are believed to protect intellectual property.
"As of now, we have designed the programmes and created the schedules. Thus, I expect that the agreement will be well-implemented, (and will) not just (be) a display," he said
He mentioned that there will be two annual meetings held in two countries in the near future.
"This is the first agreement signed by the ministry and Malaysian government. Actually, it has been designed for years, but has just been realized now," he added.
