Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s import value from January to November 2012 was US$176.1 billion. It had increased by 9.4 percent, compared to the import value in 2011, which had reached US$160.96 billion, said Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan on Friday.

The minister said the import value of non-gas products had increased by 10.8 percent in 2012 as compared to 2011. In 2011, the import value had reached US$137.2 billion. The import value of gas products had increased by 123.2 percent in 2012 as compared to 2011, reaching US$2.8 billion. Some of the non-gas products imported by Indonesia included machinery, mechanical planes, steel, iron and automobile parts.

"Although the overall import value had increased in 2012, the import value in October 2012 was higher than the import value in November 2012. In November 2012, the import value was US$16.9 billion, a 1.7 percent decrease as compared to October 2012," said Gita.

He said a decrease in the import value in November 2012 was due to a decrease in the import value of crude oil and non-gas products by 4.8 percent and 3.9 percent respectively.
