CAT is a joint venture formed in 2001 among three leading European consultancies - COWI [http://www.cowi.com/menu/home/Pages/cowi-group.aspx ] (centered on Scandinavia), SKM Enviros [http://www.enviros.com ] (centered on the United Kingdom and Australasia) and Tauw [http://www.tauw.com ] (centered on Western Europe) - to provide environmental due diligence (EDD) services supporting large industrial, commercial property, and financial clients.

CAT companies provide their multinational clients with local, highly trained environmental professionals who understand country-specific regulations in context with international expectations and corporate requirements throughout the world. The joint venture enables partner firms to collaboratively deliver environmental consulting services in Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas.

Collectively, the CAT companies and their partners have more than 13,000 staff and offices in 50 countries. As a member of the alliance, Geosyntec practitioners will provide environmental consulting services for projects within the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, and partner with other CAT firms to provide similar services in other regions of the globe. Projects will typically consist of the provision of EDD services but also might include site investigations, transactional consulting, regulatory compliance services, and environmental remediation.

"Geosyntec practitioners have worked closely with the CAT Alliance for several years and have been impressed with their ability to rapidly and efficiently deliver EDD services throughout much of the world," Geosyntec Principal Neal Durant said. "By advancing our position within CAT, Geosyntec will expand its capabilities in the global EDD market and engage new clients on their challenges related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, underwriting, internal environmental health and safety audits, and litigation support."
