It was hoped the photofits of the two suspects made based on information from witnesses could be made known to the public next week.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police are still preparing photofits of two suspects involved in the raid of a penitentiary in Cebongan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, recently that led to the death of four detainees.

"The police have been able to build up images of two suspects which are now still being improved for immediate publication to the public," National Police Head of Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Boy Rafli Amar said in a press conference here on Tuesday.

He said it was hoped the photofits of the two suspects made based on information from witnesses could be made known to the public next week.

He said according to the witnesses the suspects did not wear head covers when conducting the shooting.

"In short, there are two suspects (known so far), based on information from witnesses. Regarding their roles we will confirm later," he said.

Boy said that investigation still continued, adding three teams have been involved in the investigation namely from the police, the military (TNI) and the National Commission on Human Rights.

He said the police could not yet conclude who had been behind the raid.

He also said that no data or information which could tell as yet the types of bullets used in the shootings. He however said that information to be collected later about them could be used to determine the guns used in the shootings.

On March 23, a group of armed and masked men raided the penitentiary and killed four detainees put there after being caught following a fight at Hugo`s Cafe in Sleman days before that had caused the death of a member of an army`s special force Kopassus.

The government has condemned the brutal attack and has called for thorough investigation into the case.(*)
