Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Team of the Aerosport International Federation (FAI) led by Nixon Ray will soon observe the would be location of the paragliding Indonesia Open championship in Matantimali Mountain in Sigi District, Central Sulawesi province, a spokesman said.

The FAI team is expected to arrive in Palu on May 23, 2013, secretary to the provincial executive board of the Indonesian Aerosport Federation (FASI), Asgaf said here on Wednesday.

During their stay in Palu, the FAI team will also meet with the Central Sulawesi FASI executive board and the Indonesia Open organizing committee.

The paragliding championship which is expected to be participated in by a number of foreign athletes, will take place in Wayu village, Kinovaro subdistric, Sigi District on May 30 through June 6, 2013.

The paragliding event will take place in the Matantimali Mountain around 800-1,000 meters above sea level, and the take-off location is 1,200 square meters wide, he said.

"This event is a great trust that should be fully supported by the Indonesian National Sports Committee and the provincial government," the spokesman added.
