Police detective Adj Comr. Gito of the Cianjur police said the first group of 80 illegal immigrants from Maynmar, Pakistan, and Afghanistan were stopped in the Cianjur-Bandung highway.
They uses a truck and five minibuses, Gito said.
They were stopped after police officers saw their cars with suspicious foreign passengers, he said.
Later in the day 43 more illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka were stopped at Sindangbarang highway in South Cianjur.
The illegal immigrants chose the road via South Cianjur to the southern coast of Java from which they planned to cross to their final destination Australia`s Christmas Island , Gito said.
The illegal immigrants would be handed over to immigration authorities in Sukabumi, he said.(*)
