Rupiah traded at the level of 9,920 to the dollar in inter-bank transaction strengthening 60 points from 9,980 in last week`s close.
Samuel Sekuritas` economist Lana Soelistianingsih said the rise in the price of subsidized oil fuels also helped give strength to the local currency.
Trust Securities` chief researcher Reza Priyambada said the rise in the value of Chinese yuan also give positive sentiment for rupiah.
However, supiah could still fall with the cut in the stimulus planned by The Fed, Reza said.(*)
